Background
In today’s digital age, smartphones have become an integral part of our lives, storing sensitive personal data, financial information, and access credentials. However, many users remain unaware of the risks posed by poor mobile hygiene, including outdated apps, excessive permissions, suspicious downloads, and malware infections. There is a pressing need for a user-friendly tool to assess, educate, and improve the overall hygiene of mobile devices, especially in regions with rising cybercrime incidents and digital frauds.
Problem Statement
Despite increasing awareness of cybersecurity, there is no comprehensive mobile app that provides users with an automated mobile hygiene assessment — scanning for vulnerabilities, insecure app behaviours, unpatched systems, over-permissioned applications, and potential privacy threats.
Users, especially non-technical individuals, need an intuitive platform to evaluate the security health of their mobile devices and receive actionable guidance.

Functional Requirements
Design and develop a Mobile Hygiene Assessment App that can:
1. Scan the device to assess:
o App permissions vs. usage
o Presence of outdated apps or APKs
o Indicators of compromise (e.g., malicious APKs, sideloaded software)
o Network configuration risks (open WiFi, VPN usage, IP leaks)
o Battery/drain usage by suspicious apps
o Device security settings (e.g., biometric lock, encryption, etc.)
2. Score the device hygiene using a quantifiable metric (e.g., 0–100 score or color-coded risk levels).
3. Provide actionable recommendations to improve mobile security hygiene (e.g., uninstall unnecessary apps, revoke unused permissions, update system).
4. Optionally include:
o Integration with community intelligence (e.g., flag apps known for
phishing/malware)
o Cyber hygiene reminders and educational tips
o Parental or enterprise control dashboard
